By using Froissage.com you agree to these terms.

Using our content

  • Personal and classroom use. You may read, print and share our guides and lesson plans for personal study and for non-commercial teaching, including printing handouts for a class, as long as you keep a credit to Froissage.com.
  • Quoting. Short quotations with a link to the source page are welcome.
  • Republishing. Please do not republish whole articles on another website or in a commercial product without asking us first through the contact page.

Images

Photographs on this site are used under their own licences: public domain (CC0) or Creative Commons (CC BY or CC BY-SA). The licence and the photographer are credited on each image. If you reuse one of these photographs, follow its licence, not these terms. Artworks by Ladislav Novák, Jiří Kolář and other artists discussed on the site are not reproduced here and remain the property of their rights holders.

Practical activities

Our guides describe art activities using paper, paint, ink and sometimes scissors and glue. Supervise children, use materials suitable for their age, and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions. Some historical techniques we describe, such as fumage (candle smoke) and alchemage (chemical treatment of prints), are explained for information only and are not recommended as activities.

We link to museums, encyclopedias and other sources. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
